Pricing is reviewed against current industry resources including AIGA professional design resources, current freelance market data, Upwork rate references, and Creative Boom industry pricing research.
AIGA recognizes that there is no single universal standard rate for professional designers and that pricing should be based on defined project scope, experience, deliverables, revisions, usage, production requirements, and business considerations. Current 2026 market references also demonstrate that rates vary substantially by specialization and experience. Accordingly, the rates listed by Indie L.A. Studio are intended to provide clear professional starting prices and studio benchmarks rather than represent a mandatory national price list.

STANDARD STUDIO TERMS

DEPOSIT AND PROJECT START
A 50% deposit is required before work begins. The deposit reserves studio time and production availability. Work begins after payment has cleared.

FINAL PAYMENT
The remaining balance must be paid in full before release of final files, source files, production files, editable files, high resolution assets, website credentials, application files, or other final deliverables.

CLIENT APPROVAL AND SIGN OFF
The client is responsible for reviewing all work and providing approval. Written approval or sign off constitutes final approval and completion of the project. No revisions are included after final sign off. Any changes requested after approval are considered new work and billed separately.

REVISIONS
Any included revision rounds will be identified in the project quote or agreement. A revision means a reasonable modification to an approved direction. New concepts, substantially different directions, additional deliverables, additional functionality, or changes to project scope are not considered revisions.

PROJECT SCOPE
Additional pages, concepts, deliverables, formats, functionality, products, platforms, applications, features, services, or substantial changes to the original scope may result in additional charges.

CLIENT MATERIALS
The client is responsible for providing accurate text, photographs, logos, trademarks, product information, credentials, content, specifications, and other materials required for production. The studio is not responsible for delays caused by missing, inaccurate, incomplete, or late client materials.

CLIENT DELAYS
The studio may pause or reschedule a project when the client is unavailable, unresponsive, or substantially delayed in providing required information, approvals, materials, or payments. Restart or rescheduling fees may apply.

CANCELLATION
The initial 50% deposit is nonrefundable. If completed work exceeds the amount of the deposit at the time of cancellation, the client may be responsible for the additional amount earned or incurred.

OWNERSHIP AND COPYRIGHT
The studio retains ownership of preliminary concepts, rejected concepts, working files, unused concepts, sketches, drafts, proprietary production materials, processes, and other materials not specifically identified as final approved deliverables.
Upon receipt of full payment, the client receives rights to the final approved deliverables specifically identified in the applicable agreement or invoice. Editable source files are not automatically included.
Third party materials remain subject to their respective licenses and usage restrictions.

SOURCE FILES
Native and editable source files are not automatically included with standard design services. Source files may be purchased separately when available and when their release is appropriate for the project.

THIRD PARTY SERVICES
Hosting, domains, plugins, fonts, stock photography, stock video, music, software, printing, shipping, advertising, themes, applications, APIs, cloud services, subscriptions, marketplace services, and other third party expenses are billed separately unless specifically included in the project agreement.
The studio is not responsible for third party changes, outages, pricing changes, discontinued services, licensing changes, service interruptions, or platform limitations.

WEBSITE AND APPLICATION SERVICES
Website and application pricing does not automatically include hosting, domains, servers, application store fees, developer accounts, premium plugins, third party software, APIs, copywriting, photography, advertising, maintenance, subscriptions, or external services unless specifically stated in writing.
The studio does not guarantee website traffic, sales, conversions, downloads, rankings, revenue, monetization, or business performance.

SEO AND MARKETING
SEO and marketing services do not guarantee search rankings, followers, traffic, revenue, sales, monetization, advertising performance, engagement, or other business results unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY
The client is responsible for ensuring that all materials, information, trademarks, photographs, content, products, services, and instructions supplied or authorized by the client may legally be used.

INDEMNIFICATION
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the client agrees to defend and hold harmless the studio and related parties from claims arising from client supplied or client authorized materials, instructions, content, trademarks, intellectual property, products, services, or information.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the studio’s liability is limited to the amount actually paid by the client for the specific project giving rise to the claim.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or lost profit damages.

NO GUARANTEE OF BUSINESS RESULTS
The studio does not guarantee business success, revenue, sales, followers, viral performance, search rankings, application downloads, monetization, advertising performance, customer growth, or other commercial results unless specifically guaranteed through a separate written agreement.

PORTFOLIO USE
Unless confidentiality has been specifically requested and agreed upon in writing, the studio may display completed work in its portfolio, website, social media, presentations, awards submissions, promotional materials, and other professional showcases.
Confidential, unreleased, or restricted work may be excluded from public display when agreed in writing.

CONFIDENTIALITY
The studio will use reasonable care when handling confidential client information. Projects requiring heightened confidentiality may require a separate confidentiality agreement or nondisclosure agreement.

COMMUNICATION
Approvals, decisions, revisions, scope changes, project instructions, and other material project communications should be documented in writing. Email and other written communications may establish client instructions, approvals, and authorization.

LATE PAYMENTS
Payments are due according to the applicable invoice, proposal, or agreement. Reasonable late fees or interest may apply to the extent permitted by applicable law. The studio may pause work when an account is past due.

COLLECTION COSTS
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the client may be responsible for reasonable collection costs, filing fees, attorney fees, and other legally recoverable costs associated with collection of unpaid balances.

PAYMENT DISPUTES
A payment dispute or chargeback does not automatically eliminate contractual payment obligations. Reversed or disputed payments may be pursued through lawful collection procedures.

FORCE MAJEURE
The studio is not responsible for extraordinary delays caused by circumstances outside reasonable control, including major technology failures, infrastructure failures, natural disasters, government actions, widespread service outages, emergencies, or other circumstances that materially prevent performance.

PROJECT ARCHIVING
The studio may archive completed project materials. The client is responsible for maintaining its own copies of final deliverables. The studio does not guarantee indefinite storage unless a separate storage or maintenance agreement exists.

AGREEMENT AND ACCEPTANCE
Payment of the deposit, approval of a proposal, written authorization to proceed, or commencement of work after acceptance of a quote may constitute acceptance of these terms unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

GOVERNING LAW
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the State of California, subject to applicable federal, state, and local law and to the extent permitted by applicable law.
LEGAL NOTICE
These standard studio terms are provided as general business terms and are not a substitute for advice from a licensed California attorney.
For large projects, substantial intellectual property transfers, licensing arrangements, software development agreements, technology contracts, agency engagements, substantial financial commitments, or projects involving significant legal exposure, a separate written contract reviewed by qualified legal counsel is recommended.
